While many design purists may scoff at Pier1 and their new Loft21 collection, we here at LIS embrace it. Good design comes from many places, and import stores like Pier1 offer many great options for the budget concious among us who don't want to give up style.
This adorable "Eclipse" dinnerwear in classic black and white is modern and stylish. I especially love the bowls - aren't they super cute? Best of all - each piece in this collection is a paltry $4 (currently on sale). Check out the Eclipse collection at the Pier1 website here. Also make sure to check out many other affordable and beautiful things that the store offers. While we always encourage our readers to incest into pieces made by local and independant designers, Pier1 provides a nice starting point to find a lot of great basics at an affordable price.
Part of this blog's purpose is to show that good design and beautiful objects are not just for millionaires. Those of us on a college budget can certainly enjoy lovely design as well. The first example of great, yet affordable design comes from one of my favorite on-line boutiques - Elsewares.
These gorgeous lamps provide a soft romantic glow and light up your pad with a lovely modern botanical print. Made in France by TAÏR MERCIER, these beauties will only set you back $35. At this price, you can afford to get one in every color!
You can buy your very own French Floral Lamp right here, and make sure to check out the rest of the pretty things at Elsewares, many of which are priced to suit our post-college budgets.
